This academic year marks an exciting and significant milestone for our Year 9 students as they make their options choices for GCSEs.

This is a crucial time in their academic journey, and your support is invaluable in helping them make well-informed decisions. To best prepare and support our Year 9 cohort, a series of mini assemblies designed to guide students through the options process have been organised. These sessions, delivered through TEAMS in form period, will provide valuable insights into each subject.

In addition, you and your child are warmly invited to attend the Options Parent Information Evening on Thursday 3rd April from 5:15 to 6.45pm. This event will provide an invaluable opportunity for you to support your child in making informed GCSE choices. During the evening, you will have the chance to visit each subject department in person. Here, you can engage with subject teachers to gain comprehensive insights into:

• The GCSE curriculum for each subject
• Key areas of focus within the course
• The assessment structure, including whether the subject is coursework-based, exam-based, or a combination of both
• Opportunities for future progression in each subject area
• Support resources available to students to help them succeed

This interactive event will allow you to ask specific questions, gather detailed information, and discuss with subject specialists how each option aligns with your child's strengths, interests, and future aspirations.

Options choices will be made online via Edulink. Parents will receive a message via Edulink and they complete the form and submit it there. The link will go live on Thursday 3rd April at midnight and close on Sunday 7th April at midnight.
